According to Rich Chere of the Star Ledger, center Jacob Josefson has returned to New Jersey with a sore hand, which means he will be out tonight against the Kings and Monday against Vancouver. Josefson sustained the injury in Wednesdays loss to the Sharks. He said his hand felt better yesterday, but I guess the Devils do not want to take any chances with him.
The Devils have recalled center Brad Mills from Albany on emergency basis. Apparently word is that one Devils forward might not be able to play presumably Jason Arnott or Tim Sestito. Travis Zajac is also sore, but notified Chere that he will play.

Anton Volchenkov was placed on short-term IR retro-active to October 9th. This means he can be activated tomorrow. He has to miss at least 7 games unlike LTIR, which is 10 or 24 days. Volchenkov is likely to join the team in Chicago on Wednesday.
