Devils finally sign Adam Mair, to have 16 skaters on Wednesday

Things are slowly starting to come around for Devils and their salary cap issues. Today, they signed forward Adam Mair to a one-year-contract and he will play Wednesday night against his former Sabres team. Brian Rolston and Anton Volchenkov will remain out with a groin injury and broken nose respectively. Rolston will likely miss a week or two, while Volchenkov remains day-to-day with a broken nose and stiff neck. He is likely to return next week at Montreal, while Rolston sometime after that assuming Lou does not trade him or anyone else. A trade in the next few weeks is inevitable for the Devils, because they simply cannot afford to play with the current roster.
