Devils have to find secondary scoring in order to get on a roll

Ever since last years trade for Ilya Kovalchuk, it seems that the Devils relied way too much on him to score goals. And for the early part of this season, 5 games in, the team is still looking like its relying on him and Zach Parise, who only has one goal so far to light the lamp. Even though Jason Arnott has two goals, its not enough for them to win. Tonight would be a good night for some players to step up their game and get the puck into the net. Zach Parise for one has to go on a tear, he also got off to a slow start last season before finding his groove in late October, early November. Now its time for Patrik Elias, Dainius Zubrus, David Clarkson and Travis Zajac to rack up points along with role players such as Rod Pelley, Adam Mair and rookie Jacob Josefson.

They cannot achieve success with just Kovalchuk and Parise scoring goals, it has to be other guys putting the puck in the net. If Kovalchuk and Parise are covered, its perfect opportunity for other players to find the space needed. Also, it would be a good ideal to move Kovalchuk back to Left Wing, his natural position, he is not great on the Right Wing, Zach or Patrik can play nicely their, but Ilya is a LW. We will see what happens against Boston tonight. Its unclear whether Brodeur or Hedberg will start tonight.
