The Parise, Zajac Kovalchuk line is no more at least for now. After six straight games with little to no offense, coach John MacLean switched up the lines and put Zubrus at Right Wing with Parise and Zajac, Elias is now with Josefson and Kovalchuk and Rod Pelley is now with Arnott and Langenbrunner Adam Mair is with Tim Sestito and David Clarkson.
The team also assigned defenseman Alexander Urbom to Albany of the AHL and recalled defenseman Olivier Magnan-Grenier. Urbom has not played well the past two games and was on the ice for 2 of the 4 Bruins goals. He was benched in the 3rd period. Magnan is a plus 2 in Albany so far with no goals. Urbom will likely be back later this year, but it seems he has a lot more to learn.
Anton Volchenkov remains out with a broken nose and stiff neck, so his status for Thursday is unknown. The fact that he is still not practicing seems to be an indication that the Devils do not want to rush him back from injury. But, since its Monday and with the huge gap between Thursday's game, the Devils might have just given him a day off today. He might be getting evaluated by team doctors today maybe just to get medical clearance. We shall see Thursday.
