It will be a pair of number 30s battling each other in goal as well as two former Vezina winners. Martin Brodeur will make his 6th straight start in goal this year while Tim Thomas will go for Boston. It is not shocking that Marty is starting as he probably would want to rebound from a tough outing last night against Colorado. Coach John MacLean feels Hedberg needs more practice time with the team, so it is a good bet he will make his first start next Saturday at home against Buffalo, though it is not a sure thing. It seems the talk in the locker room has been much about secondary scoring and pushing each other more and more, but let's hope that translates onto the ice. It will be same line-up again tonight as Anton Volchenkov will still sit out and likely will return Thursday night in Montreal. You know Marty is going to start in Montreal, so the Moose will likely wait til next Saturday night. After next Saturday the Devils will have 6 straight road games against the Rangers, Sharks, Ducks, Kings, Canucks and Defending Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks. You almost know that the Devils will want to win that game since. Scott Stevens always wanted to beat the Defending Champs.

Should Langenbrunner be stripped of captaincy or be Salary Cap Cut? Well Jamie has been invisible this year for the Devils, but for now he is the captain, but it would not surprise me if it eventually happens. He has struggled so far, but I will say this, he was relatively effective against Colorado last night. Right now the mission is to score a goal and score early and often and not get too overconfident. My belief is that overconfidence is contributing to the Devils early season struggles. So, for now Langenbrunner is the Captain and unless his leadership skills fall, he will remain with the "C."
