Kovalchuk is spotlight of Kings-Devils matchup tonight

The Devils are hoping to win two in a row for the first time this season when they visit the Kings tonight at Staples Center in Los Angeles. After an emotional 2-1 win in Anaheim last night, the Devils face a tough test in Los Angeles, a team much like the struggling Devils are considered to be one of their conferences elite. Marty Brodeur will start in net again for the Devils and no word on who the Kings will go with, but both goalies are very strong in Jonathan Quick and Jonathan Bernier.

Though former Kings great Mattias Norstrom is in the biggest spotlight tonight with the team honoring him tonight, Ilya Kovalchuk will take center stage when the puck drops. Kovalchuk reportedly turned down numerous lucrative offers from the Kings this summer to return to New Jersey. The Kings even flew him and his family along with his agent Jay Grossman to Los Angeles to host him and give him and his entourage a tour of the city and all the amenities that he will have access to if he were to become an LA King. It will be another emotional game for the Devils tonight as well as the Kings.
