Marty Brodeur's quest to win his first home game this season will have to wait until November 5th, when they return to face the Rangers. However, it will be up to Johan Hedberg to get the Devils to their first home win this season after a 3-0 win over the Canadiens last night in Montreal. Devils coach John MacLean announced today that Hedberg will make his Devils debut tomorrow night against Buffalo and he is excited for the opportunity. He actually has a good record against Buffalo, in 17 games he is 12-2-2 with a 2.60 Goals against average (GAA) and a .917 save percentage with 1 shutout.
Zach Parise and David Clarkson did not practice today as John MacLean gave them both the day off, but the rest of team with the exception of Anton Volchenkov (broken nose/stiff neck) were on the ice. The Devils will play Buffalo tomorrow night before a Sunday night game against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. So, Marty Brodeur will start against the Rangers on Sunday night.
