The Devils are going with 20 forwards for now, but that could change before Friday. 20 is league required minimum for number of roster players. As expected, they place Salvador and Salmela on LTIR. So, Bryce Salvador will be out until early November. However, they will end up going with 12 forwards, not 11 as they sent defenseman Matt Taormina to Albany of the AHL and called up prospect Adam Henrique, who is also very highly regarded among the organization. So for now the temporary roster for Friday is:

Notes: Adam Mair will continue to skate with the team and it is possible more moves will be made by Friday as its not certain whether Henrique will play against Dallas. Mair could very well sign by then as well, but a trade could be necessary. The Salvador injury buys the Devils some time to permanently get under the cap when Bryce gets healthy. Josefson and Tedenby could also be called up by Friday, so it will be very puzzling trying to figure out the Devils opening night roster.
