Adam Mair likely to continue to skate with Devils without contract

Forward Adam Mair, who is in camp on a tryout for the Devils is still not under contract. The Devils have to be under the league's $59.4 Million dollar salary cap by 3 PM Easter Time today have decided to likely ride 20 players on their roster. This in part due to Bryce Salvador's concussion injury which will keep him out indefinitely. Once Salvador is cleared to return, the Devils will then likely have to make a trade or two to create room for Salvador and possibly Adam Mair along with prospects Jacob Josefson and Mattias Tedenby. Still you never know what Lou Lamoriello might do today as he still might make a trade or two and sign Mair, so unless the Devils decide to release him from his tryout due to salary cap issues and not sign him, the Devils will ride 11 forwards, 7 defensemen and 2 goaltenders. Mair could also decide not to skate with team and seek employment elsewhere. But, for now Mair will only continue to practice based on the current language from Devils training camp. Here is the Devils projected roster for Friday night:

Zach Parise, Travis Zajac, Ilya Kovalchuk
Patrik Elias, Jason Arnott, Jamie Langenbrunner
Brian Rolston Dainius Zubrus David Clarkson
Pierre-Luc Letourneau-LeBlond, Rod Pelley

Andy Greene, Henrik Tallinder
Colin White, Matt Taormina
Alexander Urbom, Anton Volchenkov
Mark Fraser

Martin Brodeur
Johan Hedberg

Injured Reserve: Bryce Salvador, Anssi Salmela
Unsigned: Adam Mair
Possible Call-Ups: Jacob Josefson, Mattias Tedenby, Matt Corrente
