Tonight is probably the most important game for the Devils as they seek their first home win of the season and there is a lot in stake for them in tonight's match-up. 15 games into the season, the Devils are 4-10-1, not what they envisioned with all the talent they possess. So, there yo see, there is a lot riding into tonight's game. Johan Hedberg will be seeking redemption against Buffalo, who lit him up for 4 goals back in their October 23rd match-up against Buffalo at Prudential Center, which they lost 6-1 as Brodeur let in 2 goals. Buffalo, along with the Rangers has been the most successful team in Prudential Center, so it will be a very tough affair tonight so the Devils better beware of them.
Lindy Ruff will be coaching his 1000th game as Sabres coach, which is a very huge accomplishment considering how many times his job was in jeopardy in recent years. Buffalo is a true meaning of first class organization due to the management and coaching of Darcy Regier and Lindy Ruff.
It will be an extra special night for Devils rookie Mattias Tedenby as he will make his NHL debut. He will be the 8th Devil to do so this season. The others in no particular order are Matt Taormina, Olivier Magnan-Grenier, Alexander Vasyunov, Jacob Josefson, Alexander Urbom, Brad Mills, and Stephen Gionta, who will dress again tonight after an impressive debut in the loss against the Rangers.

Brian Rolston, who will wait until Friday to make his return from sports hernia surgery has finally admitted what most/all of us suspected and that is he has not lived up to the huge 4 year $20.25 million dollar contract he signed in 2008 with the Devils. Hopefully Rolston can stand by this comment and start scoring his goals, revitalizing his point shot on the power play, and earning the paycheck. Matt Corrente is still being bothered by soreness in his hand, so he will not play until at least Friday and Marty Brodeur is hoping for a Friday return. Both Corrente and Brodeur skated at the practice rink while the Devils had their morning skate at the game rink. Brodeur did not take shots from Corrente.
-------
The Devils will not play again this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, the 2nd straight weekend they will have off. There will be two more occasions when they will not play during the weekend. One will be the All Star Break and the other will be in mid February, when they will have the similar type of rotation like they just had, play on Friday and wait til Wednesday.
