Devils disastrous season continues after 4-1 loss to Red Wings at Prudential Center, now 8-19-2

Right now it seems as if the Devils players had given and have already quit on coach John MacLean. Tonight's game was very similar to the Montreal Canadiens game last Thursday night, where the Canadiens struck twice early and never looked back. The Red Wings got two quick goals fro, Tomas Holmstrom and Daniel Cleary and also from Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk in a 4-1 rout of the Devils. Patrik Elias scored the lone Devils goal on a power play early in the third period, but it was too late. Chris Osgood made 33 saves on 34 shots, while Brodeur made 19 saves on 23 shots.

Again, there was very little caring by the Devils as they never really got in the match despite the shot disparity. The Devils have lost 5 straight and have really not had a good run this season. Was tonight's game finally the one that will bring massive changes to the Devils including a coaching change, which is reality right now. It is unlikely the Devils will practice tomorrow, but Monday could bring those changes or even tomorrow. Those changes better be done quickly before next Sunday's trade freeze or else they will have to stay the course until 12:01 AM December 28th, where the losing will likely continue.
