It would be very easy for the Devils to tank and lose their remaining four games in the 2010-2011 Regular Season, but this is not expected to be the case. The Devils will aim to play the role of spoiler this week as they can potentially hurt the Maple Leafs and Rangers playoff position. Pittsburgh and Boston might not be hurt by losses to the Devils other than their confidence. Playoff bound teams normally have to end the regular season on a roll to potentially avoid a let down in the playoffs, but the Devils might have a silver lining to make them nervous.
So, the Devils might find comfort in winning their remaining games as they have nothing to lose. After that many questions will follow the Devils and most of those can only be answered by having success next year. However, I will post some of the main questions the Devils will face after Sunday's game against Boston. I expect the Devils will be given a standing ovation send-off into the offseason based on their late season run, which now might only be known as a wasted effort, but that is why you have to win in October, November and December, which the Devils never did under then Head Coach John MacLean, someone who will not be thought fondly off by Devils fans.
We'll see after Sunday, as I will write my Post-Mortem on the Devils.
