Well this season will be a very tough one to predict any o the outcomes since last year the 7th and 8th seed in the East met in the Conference Finals. In the West the top 2 met. However, based on the last three years, at least one of the teams participating in the Winter Classic on New Years Day has made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, but lost. Here is the Breakdown of the Winter Classics:
2008: Buffalo vs Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh loses to Detroit in SC Finals in 6 games)
2009: Detroit vs Chicago (Detroit loses to Pittsburgh in SC Finals in 7 games)
2010: Philadelphia vs Boston (Philadelphia loses to Chicago in SC Finals in 6 games)
So, I have to go with this:
Eastern Conference Champion: Washington Capitals
Western Conference Champion: Vancouver Canucks
Stanley Cup Champion: Vancouver Canucks
Canucks in 7 games against Washington, the cup is back in Canada.
Conn Smythe Winner: Henrik Sedin
